One of the quickest methods I’ve used to drive traffic to my websites and get it indexed right away is with Google’s juggernaut Adwords program. Yes, SEO works as well but that can take weeks before you start seeing any results.
In this 4-part Adwords mini tutorial I’ll go over some of the more advanced tactics I myself have used to reduce my keyword bids from $1 to a crazy low 6 cents on a highly competitive keyword that gets 1.2 million searches a month on Google. Let me tell you 6 cent keyword bids will do you wonders.
If you’re pretty familiar with the basics with Adwords then I’m sure you’ll have no trouble at all following along.
Here’s what I’ll be covering with this 4 part Adwords mini tutorial:
- Part 1: Getting Your Adwords Campaign Locked and Loaded
Part 2: How to Increase Profits By Split Testing
Part 3: 3 Easy Adwords Tips To A Quality Score of 10
Part 4: Ad copy that gets people to click and which ad positions are most profitable (coming soon)
This 4 part series will be spread out throughout several days so be sure to check back every now and then. Here is the first one to get you started.
PART 1: GETTING YOUR ADWORDS CAMPAIGN LOCKED AND LOADED
With any Adwords campaign you need to be constantly tweaking and testing it to milk out the maximum number of clicks while trying to achieve a high click-through-rate.
When first creating a new ad campaign under the “Networks, devices, and extensions” turn off Content Network and leave Google search and search partners on.
Why?
You want to create a separate campaign for both Search Engines and Content Networks so that it’ll be easier to distinguish the clicks and click-through-rates for both. Yes you’ll use the same keyword bids and Ad copy for both campaigns.
For Devices you can turn off iPhones and other mobile devices if the destination page is not optimized for the mobile devices.
Turn off content network and Mobile devices
If your direct linking to a sales page you wouldn’t want to turn this on since majority of the time sales pages contain flash media that mobile browsers can’t display properly as of yet. Also add to the fact that majority of mobile users aren’t in the mindset to buy, rather they’re looking for entertainment and news.
Anything else that I didn’t mention here you should leave them as is. This is about it for getting your Adwords campaign locked and loaded for the advanced tactics that I’ll be going over in the coming days.
I’ve barely scratched the surface so be sure to stay tuned for the rest of this 4 part guide on Adwords Secrets Google Doesn’t Want You To Know. It’s revealing stuff you don’t want to miss.

Speaking of things Google doesn’t want you to know… I have a workaround solution for adWords that let’s people use Actionscript 3 code in their Flash ads.
Here is the link to the tutorial:

The funny thing is, my workaround is FREE. I do not ask for compensation in any way, shape, or form…. and yet Google’s minions at:
http://www.google.co.uk/support/forum/p/AdWords/thread?tid=76ae0972039d2a5d&hl=en
have informed of the following when I tried to post a link to my tutorial (which is NOT a product, it is a free tutorial with source code, for #$@*’s sake!)
Here is what they said:
“please do not continue post in order to promote your product, your URL, your email address or any other contact information – even if you feel your product is related to the subject of this thread. ”
Soooooo, if I cannot tell people about my tutotial, OR where to find it, OR what it is for…. what is the point of their forum!
They even went so far as to block my account on that forum.
It is nice to see more articles on the pitfalls of Google’s adWords program and how to work around them so you can get on with being productive.
As long as we all stay within Google’s “do no evil” mandate, then why should they block anyone from trying to help others?
Anyway, here is the link to that tutorial:

hope this helps someone as much as it helped me!
